Projects
Walk About Love is a journey that takes place along the paths of Israel, through amazing nature. In order to keep our environment as clean and as healthy as possible, our group holds a number of principles that have translated into useful ecological projects. Here are some examples of projects that took place in the previous journeys and also future projects:
Colaboration with local communities During our travelling we will visit various towns and cities, in which we will work together with the local community. We aspire to develop our surroundings ecologically and socially wise by going on massive cleaning operations, plant community gardens and much more. Animal rights:
In the past two journeys, the Walk About Love group encountered some incidents of un-acceptable behavior towards animals. These animals were taken in and rehabilitated by the people of the WAL, and we plan to keep our eyes and our hearts open for more friends along the way if they will need our help. The group found 6 abandoned puppies, collected them and within a few days found homes for them all. Eeya, the famous donkey that walked with us from the desert till the Golan Heights was treated with lots of love from the group and recovered from his fear of human touch. Miri, a dog that joined the group in the middle of nowhere touched everyone’s heart. During her two months she spent with us, we discovered that Miri was pregnant. She gave birth to a litter of 10 on the beach. Loving homes were found for all dogs, including Miri Ecological camp:
The Walk About Love camp is based on an environment-preservation perception, which is practiced in a number of aspects: - Saving water - No usage of disposable dishes - all the dishes can be reused - Dish Washing is done in an economical an ecological way - ecological soap and three bowls of water - Compost - all the organic waste is seporated and burried in the ground - Collecting garbage - every walking day we take ecological garbage bags with us and collect any garbage we see on on the road along the day - Classification and recicling of the garbage
Solar energy:
On the next journey, we will use solar panels and light our nights with solar energy that will be collected during the day.
Lets learn together how to be in-tune with Nature!
