Travel planning

Whether you are planning a short trip on the Israel Trail in the north, or a desert trip on the southern part, planning is the most important part. Although Israel is a small country, this does not mean that only trips to places like the Carpathian Mountains in Romania or the Dolomites in Italy, require advance planning. The more prepared you are and take care of issues like burying water and food and coordinating with the angels of the trail, all you will be able to minimize the risks. We will always be happy to host you on a trip on one of Walk About Love’s trips – stay tuned to the site for the upcoming trip.

Israel Trail, map and markings

It is advisable to understand the weaving of the Israel Trail with the help of the map. You can move some maps or a book and use them during the trip. Check out the more challenging places and mark them. Also use it as a schedule so that it does not happen that you get stuck in the middle of a nature reserve when night falls. Everyone knows that the Israel Trail is marked in written blue and white, but in many places you will also see other trails in the area so it can be confusing.

Logistics

Do not hesitate to use the services of the Israel Trail angels in the south or north to bury water and food. They are happy to do so. You are also welcome to join us for part of the journey in the south so that you will not have any need to worry about logistics because we will provide the food and water.

Take only what is necessary

In many cases, when people embark on a journey on the Israel Trail for the first time, they learn from their mistakes. And what are they exactly?

· Immediately more food that loads on the back and requires people to stop too often.

Unsuitable socks – you set out on a journey in hot weather – this does not mean that you should wear thin socks. You may be more comfortable, but you will increase the chances of creating abrasions on the foot.

Water – In many cases people do not realize that they need more water than they think at first and then they are forced to get off track to look for a store water or tap.

· It is not worth hiking in summer and winter – people say to themselves, it is not that we will do the entire Israel Trail now, only a few days in the north so what is hot. Even on a day trip in severe weather conditions, damage can be caused.
